There is an amazing full service photography studio across the street from the JMC offices called Milk. It is so high-end phenomenal with tons of studios for massive photo and video shoots, and walking through it is like walking through an architectural dream.
They've got an empty space outside the main building which will eventually be turned into a restaurant - but as of now it's just an empty shell. The perfect place to shoot a What Would Josie Wear? The Art of Industry...

What Would Josie Wear? Art Deco Diva
The Art Deco movement was all the rage from the '20s through the 40's. It influenced everything from art to architecture, film to fashion. It's style is glamourous, elegant, and oh so cool.
Los Angeles definitely got caught up in the movement and if you drive along Wilshire Blvd. from downtown to the ocean you'll see thousands of examples of the architectural style.
I walked into the JMC office the other day and the neckline of Josie's dress instantly made me think of Art Deco. I grabbed my camera and my model and we walked a few blocks to Ren-Mar Studios, a movie lot whose heyday was in the 1920's, to get some exterior WWJW shots. What Would Josie Wear? A Mother and Child Reunion
Josie is good at giving credit where credit is due - so you'll often hear her speaking about her mother, Roberta in the most shining light. Roberta is beautiful, kind, stylish, artistic, peaceful, thoughtful, and makes the best cheesecake on the entire planet. I kid you not. Roberta came by the Josie Maran Cosmetics office yesterday to pick Josie up (they went to The Drybar party together) and I just had to take some photographs of mother and daughter. Although they had probably seen each other hours earlier, I like to call it - The Mother and Child Reunion...
