The Art Deco movement was all the rage from the '20s through the 40's. It influenced everything from art to architecture, film to fashion. It's style is glamourous, elegant, and oh so cool.
Los Angeles definitely got caught up in the movement and if you drive along Wilshire Blvd. from downtown to the ocean you'll see thousands of examples of the architectural style.
I walked into the JMC office the other day and the neckline of Josie's dress instantly made me think of Art Deco. I grabbed my camera and my model and we walked a few blocks to Ren-Mar Studios, a movie lot whose heyday was in the 1920's, to get some exterior WWJW shots.
