Luxury with a conscience could have been written by me as it is the concept I try to live by. For me it is all about combining my love of fashion and beauty with my desire to live a greener, healthier life. In the past this was not so easy as going green and using natural products meant being a crunchy and using unscented or odd smelling products that never worked as good as the chemically ladden ones. I myself do not want to give up my love of great beauty and fashion to achieve my natural living goals-and I am so excited that there are great lines out there like Josie Maran Cosmetics that allow me to combine my passion for both. I can now use luxurious, good for me and the earth products like the Argan Oil, fabulous eye shadows, lip glosses etc from Josie Maran as well as great skincare products, home fragrance, cleaning products, clothes for myself and my baby that make me feel pampered and like a vip while feeling good in my heart about using them. I am thankful to be living in these times!

'Luxury with a conscience' means knowing that you look good, and that nobody had to suffer for your beauty! I don't know how someone could feel good about themselves while knowing that some little animal had to suffer for their lip gloss. So if I have to pay a wee bit more to know that nobody got hurt, I'll gladly do it!

Luxury with a conscience is about still having those little luxuries in life - products that make you look and feel good - without harming anyone or anything in the process of making those products. Little luxuries are what makes life so wonderful and lovely. I'm a stay at home mom and sometimes just putting on a tinted moisturizer and mascara and blush is enough to make me feel good about the day. And I like to make sure these products are something that is good for the environment too.

Luxury with a conscience is indulging in something without guilt. It's a lot like eating something yummy like wheat pasta (or my fav Nana's cookies), and knowing it is a better choice for you. It's finding happiness in little things in life - fashion, food, decor, beauty, makeup - and enjoying them more because they are a smarter and better choice. I love finding and loving something that fulfills both needs.

Enjoying life's pleasures while not hurting the earth or any other living thing to do so.

Luxury with a conscious means you can be glamorous (or natural or sun-kissed or rocker or sexy) without abandoning the reality that if we take care of the planet, she will take care of us. It does not need to be either/or.

Luxury with a Conscience means that we can enjoy life's pleasures without over-consuming the earth's natural resources. We can reuse and recycle and still be glamorous. We can be natural and sexy at the same time.

Dear Ms. Maran,
I'm not exactly sure if I'm putting this message in the correct place, but I was hoping to get some info from you or someone in your company. I am a physician at Cedars Sinai Medical Center and I specialize in Radiation Oncology which is an area of medicine that uses focused radiation to treat various cancers (we only use organic radiation of course [ha-ha]). I treat a large number of patients with breast cancer, and so far 2 of them have said to me they use a product called Argon oil (sp.?) from your company which has helped them TREMENDOUSLY with the skin reaction caused by their radiation treatment. I thought it was interesting that 2 different people mentioned the same exact product. At any rate, It would be nice to pick someone's brain about that, and possibly other organic products you may have which may be compatible with patients receiving cancer therapy (a lot of make ups/perfumes/deodorants can't be used b/c of their metallic contents, etc..). I'm afraid I don't know a whole lot about this world (and neither does my wife for the most part), but it's great that someone is making the effort to reduce people's exposure to unnecessary chemicals and toxins in amke up products. Good on ya. My e-mail is amin.mirhadi@cshs.org.

Luxury with a conscience is the motto of today’s' modern "green" girl or boy. It is the ability to indulge without disrespecting Mother Nature, others or oneself. Luxury with a conscience reminds us that in today’s' consumer society, it is not all about taking, but giving back as well. By truly living a life aligned with this motto, we as individuals will be able to obtain the world's best kept beauty secret...and this is the glow that comes from the beauty within. Remember "Mother Nature knows best..." Peace ;-)

Luxury with a Conscience is being gorgeous and being green.

To me, Luxury with a Conscience means quality without compromise. Meaning you can indulge in high quality products that make you feel good, and that show off your own style, without having to compromise your health *or* the environment. Beauty that speaks not only to our outer beauty, but also your inner beauty. A lot of people use products every day that are filled with icky chemicals that can harm them, and the earth. Most are afraid they will miss out on good quality if they use "green" products and often think of green to mean boring or plain, but I disagree. So does, Josie, which makes me happy that her brand believes in "Luxury with a Conscience" - which to me is a promise that the beauty products she creates are *just* as luxurious as you'd hope for, but you can sleep better at night knowing the ingredients are safe for you *and* for mother nature.
Thanks for caring Josie! More brands need to take your lead.

To me, Luxury with a conscience is about seeking the comforts of the best while caring about mother earth and fellow creatures in the process. Products that don't get tested on animals and that don't contain chemicals that are harmful to the planet, or to me but are perfect and just what I need!! I love Josie Maran and what you are trying to do. Thanks for all you do!

To my mind, enjoying "luxury with a conscience" is to indulge in simple pleasures. It is to remember that a woman need not always put herself at the bottom of her own priority list. It is to recognize the inner and outer beauty in all beings (including ourselves!) while maintaining awareness of all that exists around us. It is to create positive change in the world. Most of all, it is to learn to tread lightly on our earth, as we only have one!

Not sacrificing on either front whether it’s your confidence/style or your duty to the planet that you call home.

Being a single mom, luxury with a conscience means going back to the basics by taking simple easy steps in taking care of yourself and maintaining beautiful skin. Harsh chemicals can only promise good results but in the end can damage your skin in the later years. I believe a woman should be able to maintain beauty without damaging herself nor the planet. I say let the inner green child come alive and do things to save the planet. While your keeping yourself beautiful, your keeping the planet beautiful as well.

For me, simply put, Luxury with a Conscience is—
Letting the natural and inner beauty which illuminates in all of us daily, to finally have the chance to shine on and enhance our uniqueness with a luxury brand (Josie Maran Cosmetics) which nurtures our earth’s body, soul and conscience as well as our own.

"Luxury with a Conscience"
Conscience is big in my life. In the last seven years I've become a family rights reporter because of it. I write about people who have no conscience. They lie about their children's other parent in order to win sole custody.
This work is very stressful and emotionally draining. I'm sure it shows on my face. I could use all the help I can get to be beautiful.

Luxury with a conscience means loving something more than you love yourself, while still loving yourself. I didn't "get it" until I became a Mom. I have always loved the best of the best, and there has to be a way to have it without hurting anyone or anything, and if possible, helping someone or something. Imagine the world we would live in if everyone thought that way?

So often the words luxury and being consciencious seemed polar opposite of one another. To allow ones self to enjoy the luxuries of life meant to throw caustion to the wind when considering the means to be luxurious. At least now people who care more about the earth and people around them can maintain a scenes of luxury with their beauty redgimon. Josie you want to make girls and some guys not feel the need to sacrifise beauty to be a conscience of the world around them, around me. Also your cosmetics doesn't only help control waste upon the earth but also upon our skin. Never has a cosmetic line felt so soothing on my sensitive skin. I never have to be self conscience when applying your cosmetics The scent of other lines made me feel less then inthusiastic about making myself up, and the scent my young son would have to endure. He has autism and his scenses are very sensitive.

To me, "luxury with a conscience" means enjoying the finer things in life and being aware of how I am impacting the environment while doing it. The finer things in life can be anything from the feel of an organic cotton shirt against my skin to eating organic, locally grown corn on the cob during the summer, and, yes, even to swiping Josie Maran lip gloss on my lips and knowing that I am beautiful both inside and out thanks to enjoying "luxury with a conscience."
