If you'd like to hear me and other brave ladies tell tales about starting a business, please come down to the Santa Monica Public Library this Wednesday evening for, "How I Launched My Product." Part of the speaker series hosted by the smart and savvy Ladies Who Launch, this event is sure to entertain as I dish the dirt about the trials, tribulations and triumphs I've had in launching Josie Maran Cosmetics. For more information about registering for the event, please click here.
Also, I was very honored to have been interviewed as one of Ladies Who Launch's Featured Ladies. This was an extra fun interview for me. Even I learn a thing or two about business by just answering all these questions. Check out the interview here, and I hope to see all you budding entreprenuers at the Santa Monica Public Library this Wednesday.
Much love,
Josie

Hi,
Very nice beauty blog you have here. Found your blog after searching information for makeup reviews. Thanks for the great information!
My name is Irene and I'm involved in an online beauty community website called http://www.ColorMeGorgeous.com. I was hoping that you would have a minute to check out the site and perhaps if you liked what you saw... write about it on your blog?
I may be going out on a limb by asking you for promotional help through your blog, but I hope you find ColorMeGorgeous.com to be as news worthy/helpful as I perceive it to be. There's still a lot of work to be done with it, but I'm working on it. It's hard to compete when you're a small fish in a huge sea with huge sites like MUA and the likes, but I do what I can :) My favorite part of the site is the 'critic's corner' where members can review or read up on various product reviews for makeup and skincare. Then there's always the forum, the photo gallery, the ask a makeup artist page, etc.
Thanks for your time :)
Best,
Irene

Josie-
Months later I am still inspired by my trip down from Santa Barbara to see the "Ladies who Launched...their products into Success!" - I liked your determination and humor. Most of all it was great hanging with my mom & you parents. I can see why you're so down to earth-still!
